J&S Questions
Yes I've searched. I bought my car with this unit installed.
Sorry for the phone pics:

I know it's not Version 2 because it doesn't support map. It is an older unit, has a RECTANGULAR, not 2 1/16 dual monitor for knock and A/F. What version is this?
Someone was talking about the dip switch settings but mentioned up to 6 switches, obviously this has 4.
Importantly, using the stock knock sensor, the system reads knock when I hit vtec and severely retards the timing even though its just normal noise. I do have the supplied knock sensor that isn't used. People say stick with the stock sensor. Is it any less/more sensitive than stock, and where the hell do you mount this sensor? I read you're supposed to wire an "aux" of this unit to the vtec wire to ignore vtec noise, but clearly mine doesn't have that.
any advice?

call Jhon at J&S somewhat hard to get ahold of, but he LOVES to talk about his products he'll be able to tell you all about it, i know the version 2 has a spot to hook up a signal wire so the unit knows when vtak engages.... (i have the version 2)

That unit was probably made in '98. Switches 3 and 4 both up for Honda.
TPS input is used to disable knock detection when TPS voltage is less than 1.5v.
Newer units had a VTEC input pin, to temporarily desensitize during VTEC engagement.
I could reprogram the TPS pin to do that.

Yes it is, why?
And thanks John, what do the first 2 dip switches do? Should I leave the first one up as I saw from your archived instructions?

Dizzam, I wish I knew that before I sold mine long ago.
