Default It's All Over... :'(

Driving on the highway.. was partial throttle prolly aroudn 5 grand or so. in boost... all of a sudden. car kinda hesitates and budges a bit then continues to run fine but jsut as that hesitation. OIL LIGHT. all of a sudden. engine is making the worse rattlnig/ticknig kinda nosie ever. I'm a ways from home. pull over to a stop.... pop hood.. everything looks fine.. check oil. oil level is fine.(I'm running normal setup. fitler on block. turbo feed off oil pressure sensor) so if oil level is fine. must have no oil rpessure or very little. I know it's fucked eitehr way. I'm pissed and don't care anymore and drive ti home keeping revs low at around 2000... get home. take oil feed lnie off turbo. turn the engien over and run it for a few secodns. shut it off. only a bit of oil came outta the feed line.... so I don't ahve oil pressure really what so ever. my conclusion is prolly my opil pump ate the dust and I spun a bearing... but the rattlnig type nosie is comnig more fromt he ehad so maybe I wrecked the head. but either way tog et to the oil pump. pretty much gotta take it out anwayys as it's not an easy task. UGH.. so depressed.

That sucks what was your setup what oil/filter were you using.

BTW I had a similat problem except it was my turbo that was making the noise boclked oil line, it was a piece of silicone.

How many miles was on the car/oil pump?

About how much does it cost to have a new oil pump installed thanks?

you drove it home??? it could have just been the oil pump and/or a spun bearing. a HELL of alot cheaper to fix then the entire motor.
Guess we will never know now. goes to show were getting pissed gets you.
at the least you still had a good head. who knows now.
I feel you pain dude but damn.

basically the con. rod broke off, then continued spinning on the crank and ripped through both sides the block. this motor was boosted on for a few years now... she went out with a ******* bang though... RIP....

sorry for hijaking the thread

I had the same **** happen to me. It was also a JDM B16 and the oil pump gear shattered. Thank goodness I was using Mobil 1 syn. That **** saved my engine but the turbo died

Live and learn. Now I have an Oil pressure guage and if that sucker goes down, I will shut the car down immeditely.

My turbo feed was Tee off the Oil pressure but was done the Endyne way(Extension off the block to a Tee so the Oil pressure sensor was not grounded. Boy did I learn a lesson from that.

Well good luck on you new build man. I know your coming back fighting right??
