ITR cams worth it on a low boost
Well i will be picking up some ITR cams tonight and was just thinking it over before i pay for them, if it would be worth spending the money on them when i am only boosting like 10psi or so. i plan on raising the boost in the future but am just wondering if they are worth the money for a low boost setting.
motor is a GReddy(18g) turbocharged b16a2
thanks guys

CTR's are cheaper but i think i am getting a reasonable deal on the cams so once the person contacts me back i believe i am going to buy them, just want to know if anyone has dyno'd their car before and after with these cams on a low boost setting like in between 5 psi and 12 psi

Its hard to really say. You'd get nealy the same benifits from just turning boost up a bit. Slightly higher IAT's maybe and a bit of more lag, but the other cams would also move the powerband up (same effect as that lag) and require more tuning (low cam profile).
I'd look at it this way. If you're boosting in the best effeciency range (or higher) now, get the cams. If its lower than optimal effeciency, don't get the cams yet - just turn up the boost. If its lower than optimal now and you turn it up, you shouldn't see much of a diff in IAT temps. The only benifit I'm sure of is the sound - stock engagement of itr/ctr cams is loud. Finally drove my brother's ctr'd hatch, VTEC resonating under a bridge is killer.
