Issues: Wastegate or Boost Controller?
Well I have a tial 50mm bov. Is there anything I can fix on the BOV? replace the spring?
I currently have a 11 psi spring in there which I thought was adequate, but is maybe 12psi better, or maybe 9psi?
Thanks for the response.

Hello All,
I have been having some trouble sustaining high boost with my turbo setup. up to 24psi boost holds relativly stable, but once i go beyond that the boost starts to jump around between 25psi and 29psi (my goal is to run 30psi). I have a 44mm tial wastegate and a turbo xs bov.
I thought it was the wastgaste spring so i put in 2 springs equalling 20psi of base boost. this did not help at all. however i did notice that the wastegat spring and wastegate spring housing was dirty. does that mean there is a leak in the diapram or is that normal?
Can this problem be caused by a faulty boost controller? Boost holds solid up to 24psi, but anything after that it goes crazy. This leads me to believe it could be the boost controller rather than the wastegate.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I think everybody is getting confused or maybe just me. tial i think he was was talking about the bov spring i could be wrong once again.the post you quoted he was talking about the wastegate spring.
check the part i bolded, he said he had a turbo xs bov, then in the post above he says he has a TiAL bov
Haha thanks TIAL.
but in all seriousness, could something like the bov spring cause something like this? What could cause a BOV to open when its not suppose too? (other than maybe a bad vacuum source)
