I don't know about that turbocharger, but internal wastegate in itself is fine if you don't have really high power goals.

By high power goals your talking over 350whp, if so then no 350whp max prolly

lol. higher power goals have nothing to do with whether a internal waste gate will work for you or not. just think of it like this, the lest boost you run the more work your wastegate has to do because its letting out more exhaust gas to keep the turbo at said boost. the higher the boost you run the less work your w.g. is doing. guys run 42lbs of boost with a evo 9 turbo with a single flapper internal w.g. its when you try to run a 35r on a 2.0l at 5 lbs your gonna have problems.

the guys running 42lbs on evo turbos arent even using the WG at that point. Its all that pea shooter can produce.

ya exactly. its just saying that the internal w.g. doesn't really matter when you crank the boost up alot.

It's not smarter or dumber to use an internal or external WG. It just depends on how you want to setup your car.

Go down to the wastegate section and read up. I run a Tial 44mm external WG that vents to the atmosphere (open loop). It's a costlier setup cause a Tial WG isn't cheap and you'd need a manifold that accommodates an external wastegate (which isn't hard to find). It's just how you prefer to setup your car. If you are in a state that is strict on emissions, running an open dump tube would be illegal, so an internal wastegate setup would be more emissions friendly or you could route the dump tube back into the exhaust further down (closed loop).

By smarter i mean,

Internal waste gate recirculates the exhaust as apose to the external wastegate that releases the exhaust into the air.

But by having an internal wastegate does it put extra pressure on the turbo?

Not all external wastegates dump exhaust intothe air. You can still route the dumptube back into the exhaust to keep noise to a minimum.
