I'm doing a complete custome turbo kit on my '01 ITR. I'll most likely go with the Manifold, turbo and Downpipe from Maxrev. I wanted to get suggestions on a good FMIC to go with. I was thinking about the "Large" one from Greddy due to the fact that it is designed for Integra's and I would like the whole kit for ease of installation. Any good bolt on intercooler's available? I've owned two Turbocharged Honda's before and can easily handle and modifications needed to the piping etc. so any ideas are welcomed.

Personally, I think the XS Engineering Silvia core works, looks, and fits well for a custom kit. Here is a pick of that core on my buddy's 92 Civic:

That thing is beautiful!! Would I need to chop the hell out of my front bumper to get that bad boy in there? I want to retain as much of the bumper material as possible.

We took the bumper support out! There are trade offs when building a fast car! It comes with the territory!

 

Just wait until I post pics of my XS Engineering Skyline GT-R core! :D

The Silvia core is 20"x10.94"x3" where as the Skyline core is 24"x10.94"x3".

It will be sick!!!!!

 

Wouldn't the XS Engineering GTR intercooler fit in a integra or civic??

i'm going for both function and form when i get an intercooler.

i really dont want a little rinky dinky intercooler if ya know what i mean

 

So I suppose since I don't want to chop up my ITR I'll have to try another Intercooler.
The Intercooler on my old Si is the regular small Intercooler that goes with the Greddy D series kit. It's pretty small but functiional, and I didn't chop the inside of my bumper at all

You don't have to cut the bumper, but you will have to take out the bumper support! You might be able to cut the bumper support rather than get rid of it, we just didn't try!

 

Lol, i'll try and get the POS digital camera out and snap some photos of mine, it's just a DRAG III setup, but in an LS power 88 CRX HF..........The HF bumper wieghs like 7lbs and the metal support underneath is non-existant. Good ol light weight profiling straight from the factory So i'm not really losing much by not having a bumper support........although it would have been nice to have when mounting my I/C............ugh I wish it wasn't dalylights savings time and wasn't cold, i'd be done installing by now.

 

Geez! And to think I once thought my IC was pretty big..

 

DAMN you guys have the largest intercoolers i have ever seen. now i have "***** envy", if you will. how much is the silvia or gtr core from XS???? i'm really interested.

I would suggest a spearco, those are nice!
