Default Intercooler sprayer?

I have a turbo ZC on 9 pounds. Also have a carbon hood without holes for windshield washer sprayers. Yet still have all the hardware, so I am thinking about wiring it up to actually spray water onto my intercooler, to achieve the denser air, colder intake temps. Not sure if anyone has done this? Any advice, think it will work?

pretty straight foward just move your lines and detach the nozzle if u cant then find some used/cheap ones and make them point at the intercoller you will need to wire a push button switch so your wiper dont turn on at the same time can be done with simple knowlege of electricity

are you gonna cool the water to make it cooler than the same air that is hitting the washer bottle and intercooler? wouldnt be worth it unless it was actually cooler than the air

the evaporation of the water will do alot more then the air alone, go for it, it will help not sure how much but i would guesstimate it at least 10 degrees cooler

I wasn't sure if it had been done before. But I thought it might be worth a shot since it would be free to do it, just a little time. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a crazy idea. Hey it works on my STi.

Okay so I got this all wired up and everything it works. Took it out to my "track" private paved roads that my family owns. Had some fun with it and it does seem to do a little bit.

Took it back to my place, and did some thinking. Was cleaning off my bench with some rubbing alcohol, got my hands really cold and just thought. Intercooler spray? Yeah, lets do it. So I took it out and drained the tank and set it up spraying rubbing alcohol.

BIG difference it is definitely a power gain. Would recommend it to everyone.

And for Redneckricer, with alcohol its going to evap so quickly that it wouldn't matter if it sprayed everywhere.

Been using this method for the past 2 years, I only ever use this when I have been sat in the fire up lane for long-ish periods, I spray prior m run, any excess water usually burns off during my burn out.
Used to use CO2 via redundant fire extinguishers, very cheap to buy, have a friend give the IC a quick blast pre run and it lowers the temps but make sure to keep it away from the inlet.
Currently, I’m running nitrous, very small shot, purge during burn out which aids then run it via the S300 during a run, cost a lot more than the other 2 but I prefer.

Try putting ice cubes in your washer fluid reservoir while you're at it.

Honestly, if your parents own some roads you can afford the NX N-tercooler setup. Either that, CO2.

Can I afford it sure. Do I want to buy it, no.

I have never used it, but this seems to work just fine.

Someone said ice cubes in the reservoir? Plus Alcohol?

Yes it will increase the effieciency of your intercooler. Heat tranfers to liquid alot better than air. Dont listen to the haters do what works for you!! Cheap and efficient ways to make hp are great! Ice cubes yes even better!

uhhh, alcohol is flamable and your turbo/manifold can reach temps high enough to ignite it...I know the likely hood of it happening is very low, but I have seen much stranger things happen...stick to ice water or at least a ice/water/alcohol mix that isnt flammable...and for the sake of everyone elses safety dont spray that **** at the track
