Its hard to see, but I put the intercooler up against the car and marked it where there are already two large holes through the lower core support. I had two aluminum L shaped tabs welded onto the bottom and one on the top. The top one didn't line up so well, but the bottom too lined up perfectly. I then got some big *** stainless steel bolts, washers, and nuts and bolted it up. Its not going anywhere, you can stand on the damn thing.

I used 2 long *** bolts with nuts that have star washers. Drilled through bumper support and screwed it on. I cut off the excess bolt that was sticking out to leave it flush its very clean looking and the intercooler will not go anywhere.

i went through the same thing with precision, home depot does not have the L shaped brackets you need. they need to be aluminum ( you cant weld steel to aluminum ) i had a write up on how to do this with a precision but the pics dont work anymore, so the thread is now worthless.

My intercooler, pictured above, has a tab on each side above the inlet piping. Could I drill a hole in that and then bolt the bracket to it? For the bottom I was thinking of using something similar to a lower mount for a radiatior (with some insulation to prevent damage to the intercooler). Would these ideas work?

Yeah you can do that. Just make sure you dont puncture the end tanks.

It's really anything goes as far as hanging intercoolers goes. My first IC we just hung with thick zip ties. Anything will work. Your IC pipes will help hold the IC up and tight also.

i have the same core as the "buck 02 " model, its damn near the same, except mine has a bolt in the dead center, and i removed the bumper cover bolt thingy, and ran a bolt down to the intercooler

and i used the tabs on the bottom to the front end support
