Intercooler fins crumbling
Ok so its real salty where i live cuz the snow and the ice so after a year my intercooler fins are not only bent a little but if u touch them they just crumble and fall off....this obviously isnt good i dont think. Is this a huge efficiency problem? What can i do next time to fix this and do i need a new intercooler...can this be repaired? thanks

Re: Intercooler fins crumbling (truesleeper)
The thin aluminum is oxidizing.... you really can't repair it... there might be a way to slow it though.
I'd replace the IC eventually.. those fins help increase its efficiency.

I would suggest to paint it to slow the process of the oxidation.
The paint is not supposed to affect the intercooler efficientcy from what I learned... well if you doesnt spray 20 thick layers lol
