i installed a turbo on my integra recently and my 1st gear doesnt boost and when i get to 3rd gear i would get engine check light codes 16, 23, 41, my intercooler size is 26.5x8x3 2.5 inlets. then i tried my friend's intercooler on and it started to boost on 1st gear and my engine check light doesnt turn on no more on 3rd gear, his intercooler size is about 26x6x3 2 1/4 inlet and 2 1/2 in outlet. but when i look at his intercooler core i can see thru it better then the one i have, although mines see pretty well too. can anyone help me out on this and help me figure out why this is a problem?? im boosting about 8 lbs and my intercooler is a spearco core.

 

New or used IC? Maybe you've got a bad intercooler. Could be leaking. Could be blocking airflow. As for the CELs, what engine management are you using?

 

its a brand new intercooler and im using a obd1 p72 ecu

 

take it back and tell em its no good.. prolly leaking boost like crazy

 

is it the "spearco" cores they sell of ebay?

what code are you getting? sounds strange that changing the fmic makes a difference.
