Default Intercooler dimension options (need help)

Im am in the process of building a turbo kit... currently looking at two different intercoolers. Both flow around the same amount of CFM's and are well built. Here are the following dimensions of each let me please know asap which will be better for an 8psi 2" hot pipe and 2.5" charge pipe intercooler kit for my integra.

Aprov Core : 22" x 5" x 3"= 330 inches sq. of surface area
Aprox L: 27" x 5" x 3"

Core Size: 20.5in x 6.25in x 2.25in=288.58 inches sq. of surface area
Overall Size: 28in x 7.5in x 2.5in

Go with the thicker and taller one because most of the cooling is done withen the first few inches because of the difference in temperature. after those first couple inches the intercooler has a harder time cooling because the difference isnt that great. So dont worry about length so much, go for thickness and hieght.

Edit: I didnt look close enough at the size to see that they were so close in the hieght and width. So figure out the product of the H x W for both and go with the larger one.

well, i'd say the shorter one would allow for less fabrication to make it fit. If you you don't care about cutting, then i'd go with the taller and thinner one. I read in Maximum Boost that the thinner it is, the better..... i could tell you why, but then i'd have to go get the book and read

go with the thicker and taller unit. If it is near 7 inches high there is a small amount of trimming to the bumper support.

out of the 2 IC I like the spec on this one.....
Core Size: 20.5in x 6.25in x 2.25in=288.58 inches sq. of surface area
Overall Size: 28in x 7.5in x 2.5in

Ive already cut out the grille with my dremel tool... and yes i dont want to cut the bumper support at all. Im told that surface area is one of the most important things to look at besides the IC being covered by part of my bumper... thus why the thicker and shorter one seems better.

Pic of what my bumper looks like now

Interesting article... Wondering if the cooling advantages in a bar and plate is substantially less than a tube and fin?
