did search, and got lots of info, but heres some more questions. this is for a walbro intank in a 99 gsr.

before i install, do i need a new relay?

any precautions i need to take, like release all the fuel pressure (if so, how?)

 

You do not need a new relay and try to do it on an empty tank. Be very
careful when you pull the pump out of the tank. If you drip any gas on the tar underneath the back seat, it will absorb the odor and your car will reek for awhile.

Take the gas cap off. Or pull the fuel fuse out, run the car and let it stall out. then take out the rear seats. unscrew the 3 screws, unsrew the 6 10mm bolts. then take off both the fuel hoses. then pull it out at an angle. and the rest is cake. installation is reverse of removal

 

so i have a choice between taking off the cap or pulling out the fuse? how will the car die out w/ just the cap off, or am i misreading?

 

where is the fuel fuse?

 

oh if you take off the cap, taht relieves some of the gas pressure in the tank.
