Default Installing rc440's question

Now I got these WITH clips, just curious since the clips have 2 wires each both unmarked, when I got the stock wires off, does it matter which of the 2 wires goes where on any given clip? I understand when I cut off 1 clip I have to use those two wires I just cut, but does it matter what order I use them? I ask because the clips simply have 2 black wires neither denoted as which should be positive or negative etc.....

I am almost positive it does not matter.

Thanks, so far got FMU off, inline out, and old injectors out.... in the process of cutting old clips and soldering new ones....

Is it a bad sign there is all gunk and **** on the bottoms of my old injectors? Not covering where it sprays, but where it mates the IM.....

it doesn't really matter BUT, from the harness if you are looking from the front of the car, the left wire is power!!!! It doesn't really matter, but if you want to do it by the book, left is power, always try to match up correctly.

Normal fuel deposits. I used a Q-tip to clean off the IM bores when I installed my RC's.

Ok quick question everything is hooked up, vac lines all good, fuel lines nothing leaking anywhere, however my car can't keep fuel pressure unless it is started.... if I turn it on the ON position to get up fuel pressure it won't hold it at 40 but slowly drop to 0 over a period of a few minutes..... when its started vac pressure is about 38-39psi with vac line on, 50 and change when the vac line disconnected.... is it normal not to be able to hold fuel pressure when the car's off? but not leak? Fuel pressure seems ok when the cars on, the needle spazzes at 38 but its a constant 38psi...

Also installed a AEM FPR per instructions didn't play with it one bit as its supposed to be set at 40psi.....

So if the power is on in the car but not the engine its supposed to bleed pressure, I understand that but the only thing that worries me is it does it very quickly, it doesn't hold the pressure for more then a second of being powered and rapidly drops to zero....

Well I'm gonna go for a drive and see how the AFC holds up for me, for now I have it set at 35% at idle and 40% across the board, low thr 20% high at 79% I think..... bbl

Ok ran into a problem, threw a code 13 (BARO sensor) which I've been told is inside the ecu..... not sure what to do

First I'm going to reset the ECU and drive it around, boost a little bit and see how that works out.

I'm also set at 35% at 1000rpm and 40% at all others, both high and low.... could I have set something else wrong in the AFC that could be causing this? Like some value I changed to the wrong kind or any input would be appreciated...

Try setting low 71% and High 72%.....don't know if it will make a difference but I know that's where it has been recommended to be set due to Closed/Open Loop Crossover.

I think I heard detonation for the first time

I was driving around today with my new AFC hack setup and while goin up hills just under vacum I would hear a VERY slight ticking/clanking from the engine bay that I've never heard before, sounded kinda like something metal was slightly tapping against something..... dunno if this was actually detonation.

After hearing it a few times (only heard it going up hill just before vacum, no other time) I changed my afc settins hi and low from -40% at 2000 and 3000 rpms to -36% and it seems to have gone away...

Any ideas?

oh I also lowered my timing to around 14deg to be safe as I know the afc hack is notorius for high timing in boost etc...

You should lower the static timing to at least 8-10 degrees BTDC.

Its recommended to use a stronger fuel pump such as the Warlboro no matter how much psi. Check out Viren's groupbuy. Its a steal. Try gapping your plugs to .028. Do you use 94 octane from Sunoco? If not, use it..it helps.
