installing cutout in downpipe? good or bad?

Default installing cutout in downpipe? good or bad?

I want to get the basic 2" cutout setup from Jegs or JCWhitney, and I'm wondering is it unsafe to cut the downpipe and insert the cutout there? or do I have to do it in the exhaust piping?

i have mine in my dp
words of the wise though i dynoed mine last week on like 9psi and lost hp rom it .
imo i dont think they really help unless you have a super restrictive exhaust or running hi boost. . . . i will test more soon
