Innovative MSBC-1
Hello Guys,
I did a search for this and came up with some basic info. A.) Seems like not to
many people use this controller. B.) The ones who do, make it seem like it's hard
to set-up the first time as the few who used it encountered boost spike. Now it
seems to get figured out so I'm not sure if it was a controller problem or set-up
problem. Does anyone have anyfeed back with this unit? They also have a new
release with boost over time and 17 turbo ramping functions. I am very interested
in hearing peoples experience with this controller good or bad. I'm leaning towards
this or the AVC-R as the World E is way out of my price range.

Re: Innovative MSBC-1 (Mikes01GSR)
I have the msbc in my car. It's not that hard to set up. it's easy to play with especially the digital readings. just dial the boost you want and go. I like the auto select stage feature as well. just hook up a micro switch and it changes the boost setting every time you change gear.

Well that's a promising review. Does it seem to have any problems holding
constant boost? If you had to do over again and could choose it or the Apexi
AVC-R would you still chose it?

I see you have a hard time deciding huh? I would suggest getting the avcr and if you don't like it sell it and get the MSBC-1. I am pretty sure you'll be satisfied with the avcr after playing with it. The manual is pretty clear on instructions, I just had to read it over like 10 times.
ps::: you can find one for 300 or less in the FI classifieds

I really never had an experience with the apex'I one, But I heard a lot of people likes them. I'm going to buy one for my friend's car that I'm building for boost.

Re: Innovative MSBC-1 (Mikes01GSR)
What engine managment are you running?
If you are running Hondata V3.5 you should try the turbo xs dual stage boost controller and use the Hondata nitrous output to control the second stage of boost.
I launch at 15 psi and when I hit a certain mph the second stage is engaged.
It works wonders on your 1/8th

Re: Innovative MSBC-1 (uglyasscivic)
I'm using a Hondata S200, but I'm looking more if a boost per gear.
I have the Greddy Profec B now with the remote switch which I believe
is similar to what you are referring to.

Re: Innovative MSBC-1 (Mikes01GSR)
I would definately listen to Cortney (uglyasscivic) his car runs awesome... As for the Innovative MSBC, we run that on both Brian's and Duc's cars... Hooking them up isn't all that difficult and I actually wired their MSD's two step into the MSBC circuit off the E-brake which works well... The problem with this controller is it takes a long time to get dialed in... As they were both installed towards the end of the 2003 season we haven't had a lot of time to play with them at the track... The ramp is definately a nice feature along with the gear activated boost levels, but dialing them in is a pain in the ***... For example the ramp has soo much difference between say 2 and 3 that it's either coming in too fast or too slow... Now we've gotta play with gearing oh well tho, just more time... Here's a little diagram I made awhile back... It won't be any help unless you want it wired the same way... Peace, Adam

Thanks for info that was the kind of stuff I was looking for. I seen Cortney's numbers and they are damn impressive. I just thought the turbo xs dual controller
would be similar to the profec B switching system I have. I'm really looking for
traction because this car is my daily driver and see's more then a strip. It will see
a road course and auto-x on occasion also. I will take a look though I'm pretty sure
I will go with the AVC-R for now.
