Default innovate wb install?

im thinking about getting a wideband and looking into the innovate. im running a piggyback system called dfi(diesel forced induction). anyways, i was wondering how this wb hooks up? does it directly replace once of my o2 sensors in my downpipe? i have a 99 si so i have two o2 sensors. so can i just replace the first one? also what else is there to hook up? thanks guys.

The ecu needs a narrowband signal, so you feed your wideband's narrowband output back to the ecu. And you make sure you adress the open circuit condition caused by unplugging the stock O2 sensor (by adding a resistive load).

is it even worth it to get a wideband if i dont tune my car myself? my tuner uses a wideband, and all that **** to dyno my car and tune it. i was just gonna get one to be safe, but it really wouldnt be worth it right?

Let's ponder this one for a moment, if you have a tuner that means you probably do not know how to tune the car yourself. Thus, if you get a wideband what good is it going to do you? If you don't speak Japanese, but your friend does and he tells you this book is good, are you going to buy it just because you think it might be nice to have? It is a good book after all.

If however you want to spend 350 or less on something that might save your butt, buy a JS Safeguard classic.

anyone idiot could learn that if the AFR number goes too high under boost, let off the gas. no need to tune your own car, just let off it it's too lean and don't pop your motor for a mere 300 bucks.

Agreed, but *** I concluded if you want to spend 300 dollars on something that will save your motor, go with a JS. I mean you don't even have to be watching the anything it does it for you. Chances are you are not going to be staring at the wideband display every time you boost, and unlike the JS the wideband won't save your motor on its own.
