Default inline fuel pump?

Hey, i'm asking this question because i'm getting confused with what i'm coming up with when i search. I found a complete Drag 3 install write up on here that i saved to my favorites to help me install my own turbo kit. I'm installing my inline fuel pump and i'm wondering how i should mount it in the engine bay so i look around the web to see if i can find some engine bay shots with the pump installed.

What i come across though are people saying that it's better to mount the pump under the car or closer to the tank than in the engine bay. I also hear conflicting statements saying that it's fine either way, it's really up to the person installing the pump and putting in the engine bay might be better for a convinience factor. So right now i'm asking why people install their inline fuel pump where they do. Possibly add pictures if you could.

IMO, the best thing to do is to ebay it, and buy a walbro 255 intank for 80 bucks. plugs right in. no hard lines to cut... and cheaper than most inline POS.

well i would deff. go that route, but the problem is i'm running an FMU (ik ik they suck ***, but i'm a poor highschool student without at job at the moment and i got most of the stuff for free, so i decided to use what i have.) so i've read that the inline fuel pump will provide the needed pressure that cannot be provided by the intake fuel pump.

you read wrong. just a walbro will suport 400 whp easily.
and if you're poor, you can probably make a profit off of ebaying it. inlines cost more than intanks.
