Injector Problems
Problem:
My last d16z6 blew because cylinder 2 leaned out so when I swapped a new d16 in (using same fuel rail and injectors from the blown motor) i listened to the injectors. Just as i suspected, injector 2 sounded different (clicking is not as pronounced as other injectors) so I thought it would be an easy fix and ordered a new injector.
I got the new injector, put it in today BUT it still sounds different like the old "bad" injector. Sure enough, i took it for a drive and when the motor really needs all the fuel it can get (full boost and high revs in vtec) i feel the same hesitation again.
Why would this injector not be firing as well as the others?
Anyone had this problem?
I know if I don't figure this out it's gonna lead to another blown motor.

Yeah ran perfect for over a year then started hesitating, which lead to the motor blowing, now trying to figure out the issue before it blows again

Try swapping the ECU - the injectors are powered by dual transistor banks, 1 per set of 2 injectors, which can go bad. Next time swap your injectors before buying a replacement to see if the problem "moves" with the injector ;-)
is there a way to check the transistor banks?
i just did a power check, each plug is sending 13.1x volts to the injector and each injector has 17 ohms of resistance on a 2000 scale... the injector on cylinder 2 still sounds different from the other 3. i'm stumped.

You will see 12v on the injector plugs but the ECU actually grounds them to pulse them - not the other way around so your best bet is to still run another ECU in your car or your ECU in another car.
