Injector hangs open damage insues :(
Just went to turn my car over for the first time this year, primed the fuel pressure because i just put fresh gas/filter in the car a few times till the gauge read 40psi.
so i crank the car and it does a nasty shake so i stop, thinking perhaps my new solid mounts are really shaking the car on initial start up i crank again, same thing.. stop. one more time.. nothing the starter just spins. so i pull the starter and 3 teeth are missing from my new fidanza flywheel. pull the plugs and #4 is full of fuel. i'm running precision 1000cc inj and wondering if anybody has had this happen to them?
i'm going to swap the inj to #3 and see if it floods that cyl, if so i'll get them cleaned and checked, if not i guess i have some wiring trouble to find.
i am just not sure if there was enough fuel in there to hydrolock the motor to the point where i would have bent the rod??? and i guess my car will still start with the fubared flywheel but just grind periodically??
any opinions? lol i hate in when this crap happens
(motor is a stock sleeved weisco/eagle combo, s300, precision 1000cc etc...)

Had this happen a couple times on different cars. One of them the injector itself hung and well it would leak fuel when the key was off. When you pulled the rail you would see it dripping. The other was bad wiring. Ran a new wire from the computer to the injector and that fixed the problem.

i am leaning towards the injector itself, just because all last year it ran fine.
did any motor damage occur with the ones you experienced?

have you tried to actuate the injector manually with voltage? or by rolling the dizzy over by hand to hear if it clicks with the key rolled over and power on?
its not uncommon for this to happen, had a set of RC1200s do this 3 months ago

I haven't done those tests. whats the best way to apply voltage to the injectors? i am unsure of what you mean with the dizzy. if i pull the dizzy from the head and turn it i should hear the injectors click?

Get a spare injector plug, strip each wire and attach to a AA battery. Always worked for me with no issues or side effects. Back in the day, when it was big stuff to do JDM imported swaps, a lot of those motors sat for a long period and the injectors would be stuck shut. I'd use this method all the time to work the injectors free, tapping the sides lightly, injecting cleaner, and slipping the injector plug on and off (no clip in place) until the injector clicked and opened nicely.
