yes there is tonnes to search online but i wanted to see what info you guys here could provide me with.
so, give me all the info on cnc 'ing(lathe, mill etc) youve got
i must gather info for a project.

well i have a lathe, what do you want to know?

its a 3 jaw self centering chuck, it has 15 speeds. a drill run on it and a few other goodies.

Yeah, what do you need to know. We have a 3 axis Mori-Seiki lathe and mill at my school. I am CNCing my rear LCAs on them. I should have them done in a week or two. In my avatar is the prototype rear passenger Lca

Basically CNC = Computer Numerically Controlled
They are machines like mills and lathes that do the work for you. You write a computer program for the part to be made, put the material in it, and watch it do the work. Most anthing that's billet and made in quantity is CNC'd because it keeps the cost way down. It takes a while to write the program, but once that's done you just need someone who's "PHD" Qualified....push here dummy...

the question you asked is so open ended its, like "what do you know about cars? tell me about cars."

cnc is just a new school version of metal removal that is very fast and very exact. there are mills, lathes, plasma cutters, saws, everything is CNC anymore. Do some research on howstuff works then come back with some more exact questions.
