Got about $5g's to work with, half plastic and half dough. Tryin to decide on Vortech supercharger for the sleeper look without the intercooler showing or drag gen III kit. Help me decide, pros and cons please. I'm buying it asap.

I've heard of doing the Greddy kit, Rev hard kit also. Anyone suggest otherwise? Remember this is for dailey driving and I need to pass emissions.

Then you need Greddy to be "legal".

well, I say turbo...reason being....

I know a guy who runs a fully built b16 (10.8:1 compression) with vortech+water aftercooler and ice/water tank in back running 17psi, slicks, stripped car, carbon fiber hood/fenders/front clip, and suspension in a 97 hatch....he only ran a 13.1...this guy has been building and running cars for years now. To me, those times are not too impressive for how much is done. I've ridden in it, yeah its amazing, fastest car I have been in, but not worth it. Doesn't hit full boost till 7500 rpms (redline = 9000), at vtec, the car basically transforms into a monster, but until then....very dissapointing. I'm not all knowing, but I think you could easily hit that much boost with a turbo around 5000 or so.

If you have somewhat bigger plans down the road, just go turbo.

that car sadly only runs a 14.9, as stated in honda tuning. and by the looks of how badly i smoked him on the freeway, I can believe it. it was me and my friend in his 2nd gen rx-7. i had just retuned my car and we were cruising home from the shop on a late night of work. we see this red gsr with vortech stickers on it, so my friend wanted to run... he floors its and blasts by and i didnt know the way to the house, so i dropped it to 3rd and floored it to keep up with him (i was surprised how well it ran after tuning) and we just blasted by the vortech gsr like it was standing still. by the time we slowed down cuz of cops, the vortech gsr finally was in sight again. a week later, we get the honda tuning and find out who we had smoked...

the moral of this story? dont get vortech or you will get smoked by a $2000 car and a weaker version of your car with half the horsepower and an automatic. it was truely sad... i swore the kid was just a ricer with vortech stickers until i saw the same exact car in the magazine.
