ImportBuilders Block
Guys it's time for me to get a new block I have blown my motor twice already and I don't think it will take another rebuilt and throw out the power I'm going for.
So I was thinking about going with a importbuilders GSR block. Has anyone ever delt with them are they good bad or what? I'm also going to get the Annihilator upgrade sounds good and I figure do it now. But I guess what I wanted to know is do I need a open or closed deck for a street driven turbo. Oh yeah when you gues reply keep in mind I plan on going for 500whp daily driven.
Thanks in advance

Re: ImportBuilders Block (jerseykid609)
Yeah but he just e-mail me he would give me the annihilator GSR block for 3950 shipped that is a damn good price. Plus I don't really want to take the chance of a sleeve dropping or cracking. The have them there already in house built so that's what I want.

It's impolite to publicly disclose privately quotes.

post link to what your talking about. im curious to see the exact block you are talking about, costs, and what all comes in it.
but im thinking it will be cheaper and equal (in terms of strength ect) thanbuying it from IB.

they make very nice motors indeed, but i cant spend that kind of money.
ex.
IB Spec Wiseco Pistons, JE pistons You choose!
Eagle Rods or Probe Rods
Bore, Hone, Hot tank, Deck (if nec)
Balanced Crank
Polished Crank
All new Bearings & Thrusts
All new seals, and Oil pan Gasket
New VTEC oil pump
New VTEC water pump
Compressions come in 9:1, 9.4:1, 10.5:1, 11.8:1, 12:1, 12.5:1, 12.8:1. 13:1
Price: $3150 Shipped.
i know this is including the core and all, but its still too pricey for me, and it doenst even include sleeves.
and im not putting IB down in any way, just too much for people like me.

Do you have any other info on that block? Like compression, head work, or cams?
Nice #'s.

# 19 isn't sleeved but can be for another $200, then you get the sleeved 2.0l $3350 shipped
I don't have any other info on that engine set up. I'm building pretty much the same thing but different turbo set up and 20+psi. someday when it's done

where do you see that you can throw in sleeves for only $200 more?
Import Builders also offers the following services for blocks:
Sleeving From $725-775 (we beat any advertised price on sleeving)
Block Assembly $400-$600
Blueprinting $250
Crank Balancing $100
Crank Polishing $40
Crank Knifing & Balance (lightening) $375
Boring/Hone/Hot Tank/Deck $175-$200
All new bearings & thrusts in your block: $217
Seals (price varies)
anyways, id much rather get better rod/piston combo then what they give you
i run eagle in mine, but for that much money, id get cp/pauter combo instead.
and then throw in some benson sleeves.

Re: ImportBuilders Block (earl)
yea nevermind, i was reading the wrong block. Bacsicly what he listed was a non sleeved 1.8l gsr block for $3150 shipped. I was looking at package 20 which is a sleeved 2.0l b18a for $3350 not the gsr block. The sleeved 2.0 gsr is $3950
Don't mind my mistakes, I found out tonight that the girl i met last week has 3 kids, 10 7 and 4. my head is a little bit confused, sorry for the mis info.
