I"m pretty sure cutting the spring would be a very bad idea. but good luck.

If you question yourself about it, DONT DO IT! This is like lowering your car by cutting the springs and fuxoring up your spring rates. I wouldnt be surprised if your wastegate started spiking like crazy.......

EDIT: maybe im ignorant to the subject. Id like to hear what others have to say. Why dont you just buy the spring you want?

Exactly.

just buy the god damn .45bar spring. If you can afford gas for the car, you can afford the spring.

Get it from another place, otherwise just wait. If you want to run lower than .8bar to protect your car, cutting your spring will make things worse so what's the point? You'll be out a spring and possibly damage your engine.

cutting the spring won't do anything for reducing the spring rate. I think it'd just shorten a stiff spring and leave the gate open...or make it's action floppy...yeah, it's a bad idea.

I've never done this, but let me tell you... your boost will be erratic, and will spike. Cutting the spring will give it an uneven seat on the w/g diaphragm...

That is just plain ghetto and you will ruin a perfectly good spring. If do that... you should honestly not be turbo.

An MBC can't drop boost below the spring's rating.

I wanna run more boost in the end than my .45 will be able to allow..

Wanna trade? I'll ship next day air if you pick up the price tag.

If you cut the spring it will not work you will probally get no boost, the wastegate will stick open, the spring is a certain legnth, leave it buy the right part. Jason

I don't understand what your rush is to cut the spring. If your going to race this weekend put some good fuel (a Gallon of C16 with a mix of pump gas) and extra boost will help you not hurt you. Besides thats not alot of boost to begin with. Why ruin a spring that you can sell if you wanted too.

Great! Sounds awesome... be sure to take pictures of the aftermath! I'm waiting in suspense!

Can we start making bets on how long it will be before something bad happens???
