I bought my IHI off a tbird from a junkyard for $100... I cleaned it up and replaced the exhaust seals in it... its not quite the equivelant of a T4, but for my b16a2 I think its perfect

I wouldnt pay $300 for it unless it was new or had less than 20k miles on it

IHI turbos are generally more expensive than the others

I'd hate to discourage you, but they are usually used for motorcycles or small displacement cars and trucks....its better than NA, but you wont get huge gains from it....

no discouragement, its cool. i just figure for a new one, its not all that bad... if they are for what you say they are why does APEX'i use them in the turbo kits.. that dosnt make much sence to me ..

HKS and Apexi's claim to fame is that they sell their kits as "completely all-in-one bolt-ons" meaning that theres no need for stand-alones or other what not's. You're suppost to be able to pop them on an go...but the max gain that they claim is 200whp on an SIR or Type R anything more, you'd have to get their more comprehensive kits....but the IHI turbos are great autocrossers and should get an ITR into 13's on the 1/4
