Ignition systems and nitrous
I know guys are running 400whp with turbos on stock ignitions.
Can the same hp be reached with nitrous on a stock ignition system?
If not, what is the limit?
I'm looking to put an 80 shot on a motor that is currently putting 200hp to the wheels, NA.
Should I invest in an aftermarket ignition system or not?
I've been hearing both "yes" and "no"
Anyone with any actual experience?

I personally will only run a nitrous motor with an aftermarket ignition where as with some low boost turbo motors you can get away with a factory setup. Reason being is generally we run them a bit richer and it does take more power to fire. I'm sure you could get away with it but I would just toss something on there. If you don't want to spend a lot of money go with a 6A or 6AL. The Digi6 is a nice box as it's got a built in 2-step and retard features as whatVTEC said. If you want something with more output the MSD 6 HVC boxes are also another option. In the end I guess it's up to you. Good Luck
