Default Ignition System with Hondata 4b

I have a crane hi-6tr ignition system as well as a 4b, but i will not need the crane timing retard device, correct? Hondata is programmed to automatically retard timing X amount per psi of boost, am i correct? So i just need the ignition for spark amplification. The unit came with the 3bar map sensor so i am going to use that for my map sensor now and let the hondata do my boost retard. Are there any concerns or anything else i should know about so my timing isnt too far advanced? Thanks guys.

The Hondata doesn't do anything "automatically".. it has the capabilities to control any part of the fuel and timing tables - yes, but you must tune it (make changes to the ROM file) to retard the proper amount of the timing under boost.

The base map program you decide to use, should have timing pulled under boost.

would it be safer to run stock ignition on the 4b until i take it to the dyno, then install it there, then have them tune it?
