Default Idle problem

Today my car was driven under boost for the first time. There was no check engine sign or anything wrong. There were no leaks or anything. Well i take the car under boost, and it felt great. After the run, I noticed the check engine light was now on, and the car kept idling even when I wasnt hitting the gas. It kept fluctuating, like i was revving the car or something.

when at a complete stop, the idle kept moving from 1000 to 1500 constantly. Now, its a drag 3 kit on a b16a3. I dont have the inline fuel pump connected yet, and for fuel all I have is a 12:1 fmu (i know its not good, but im tanking the setup very soon for aem ems and other goodies).

oh yea btw, I then shut the car down after a min or so, and turned it back on. there was no idle fluctuation or check engine light. it only happens when it sees some boost.

anyone know what this could be?

thanks for your help.

TrboGSR, thanks for your help. All I have is a stock b16a3 w/ a drag 3 kit. I dont have anything that could be tricking the map sensor. do you suggest i use a missing link or what do you mean?

yes thats the problem. your map sensor is seeing boost so it throws a CEL. get a missing link and CEL will go away and idling will be normal.

You know how DRAG includes FREE items when u buy a kit? well i got a missing link. I didnt install it though because my bro in his teg had the same setup and he did have a check engine light on constantly, but never idle issues.

you say i install the missing link? I hope that is it because i was planning on selling it. its still in the original packaging and everything unoppened.

let me know guys. thanks for your time and help. I greatly appreciate it.

BTW, remember that my car idles normally when turned on or driving around. when i boost it, after it gets done boosting it starts idling from 1000-1500 even when I am in neutral on a roll or at a complete stop. this is just a clarification that the car can be shut down, and started and the CEL will go away and idling will be normal. then when it is boosted again, the idle will go from 1000-1500 again, but only AFTER it sees boost. hope that clears things up a bit.

MISSING LINK- When a stock ECU reads pressure at the MAP, it thinks there's a malfunction. Hondata is the only thing that will actually fix this from happenning.

The Missing Link is nothing more than a check valve- a good one though.

How does hondata do this? I have an S200 ready for install which includes base maps. I can take off my FMU and missing link w/o problems? Just hook it up? Wondering how hondata deals with the MAP sensor issue.

As long as you have the "boost" map option. I don't know much about the new S200 package.

yeah I have the boost option. I had the base map made for a stock block, but I might be getting a built block and head soon. Will this matter......
