Default Identify this Turbo

I have this turbo I am trying to find a compressor map for, but i dont know what turbo it is. I bought it off a fellow HT'er like 3 years ago. It was sold to me as an internally gated AiResearch t3/t04e. .60 cold, .48ar hot
i was told by wantboost it may be a full t3 and the hotside may be a stage 1 turbine. here are all the pics and numbers i could find on it
i rebuilt it once cause it was blowing smoke out of the turbine, it did it again within a day or so

2.17^2/2.95^2 = .54 so is this a 54 trim? maybe i didnt get the smaller number exactly right

here are some numbers i found on the comp housing.
671382 and looks like a stamp on the housing near the outlet, i think it says HO81, buts its hard to read
on the inside is scribed 171383, but i think thats like a serial number

hot side - 1.93^2/2.53^2 = .58 i dunno here

here you can see where the oil was seeping out to

on the exhaust housing it says
FA1
M4
.48
285

you can see i tried a restrictor to no avail. the .48ar gives me 14psi at like 3200 rpm.

any help is apprecaited
thanks
burke

The "M4" gives it away. It is just a basic .42/.48 T3, with an internal wastegate. These were used on a lot of diesel Mercedes engines. I see them on Ebay all the time going for cheap.

Sorry, a correction. This is the 0.60 compressor / 0.48 turbine turbo. Still a basic T3. Those are the area/radius ratios, yes. The two most common T3's used OEM are the .42/.48 and the .60/.48, and this is the latter.

Like I said, these are found on Mercedes diesels, maybe also Saab, Audi, etc. This one is water-cooled, that is more uncommon.

oh ok. that so much for the help. so the M4 means standard T3?? Is there a way to tell what wheels they are?? do the trim numbers have any significance to you? is this like a .54 trim compressor wheel? and .57 trim exhaust wheel. this thing pulls pretty hard on my b18a, but now i have a gsr head. on like 14psi i was trapping 109.5 at a known shitty track on bfgs. i would like to trap closer to 115, maybe higher this year. I would like to hit around 300whp and i dont mind running like 20psi or so to do it as long as my iat's look good.
sorry for all the questions, but I would really like to find the correct compressor map for this guy

thank you for your help beepy, answers like yours still give me faith in HT

also when i had this next to a t3/t04b from a drag kit, this compressor housing was noticably larger

Oh, I think you are right, I found the same compressor on ebay:

It is a T4 compressor. I have never seen a hybrid made out of the strange internally-gated T3 turbine housing, though. Weird.

O/T, but when browsing for turbo pics I saw this sweet 5-bolt internal gate:

You don't want to know who sells it, though.
