Default IC Piping ?

My local welding shop is going to be making all of my intercooler piping.

My question is, what is the optimal size piping that should be used in doing this?

Also what is the best way to have the piping routed.

I know to use 1 1/2" for the dump-tube, just wondering for the rest.

Turbo is a Precision SC50, d16y8 engine, spearco intercooler.

I was told that you get better throttle responce with 2.25" piping since there is less area to fill.
