Default IAT SENSOR:::NEED HELP!!!!!

Im currently installing my turbo right now for my d16y8 but i heard someone saying that i had to re wire my iat sensor or it will fry my ecu since its and odb2 sensor and im using a chipped p28 odb1 ecu. Is this true? And do i have to use this sensor? if so would i have to drill a hole in my charge pipe or is there some other way to get around it?????

I dont know about the fring the ecu it may. But you will need to install the iat in the piping after the intercooler. i would use a obd1 sensor the stock obd2 iat just kinda sticks in a hole and seal with the rubber ring you would blow it out first time you boost it.you will have to have one because your tune will change as the iat goes up and down

weld that to the charge pipe close to the trottle body and to be safe run an obd1 intake sensor

Wow $25 bones for a chunk of aluminum. It would certainly work though.

FYI the thing you heard about frying stuff is by swapping the IACV wire and IAT wire. That tends to fry parts of your ECU.
