I think my FMU might be failing
Twice not my car has started running really rich. The car is in vacuum and even when I barely apply the throttle it goes full rich on my A/F gauge rather then oscillate from rich to lean like it should. After I turned the car off last time it magically fixed itself. I'm hoping that is what happens when I start the car at lunch. What do you guys think?

It could be your a/f gauge. Try hooking it up to a good ground source directly to metal and find another power source, a good one is from the fuse box accessory outlet.

What is this crap?
Re: I think my FMU might be failing (mike)
has anyone looked into tearing down the FMU and modifying / cleaning it up so it is less likely to stick? I haven't had time to get into mine...
perhaps regularly cleaning it or something will make it less likely to misbehave.

I've had mine all the way apart. Vortech says they have to be recalibrated once open, but when you see whats inside, you wont worry about it.
Theres a steel cylinder thats pushed down by the diaphragm and disk. The bigger the disk the more the diaphragm pushes it down. As it travels down it restricts the return line to the tank raising the rail pressure.
If you take it apart you should be able to clean it. The only thing that can go wrong with these is a busted diaphragm or trash keeps the cylinder from moving.
