Default i think im running lean when i do a cold start

when i do a cold start in the morning i think i hear some denotation (not sure). and im getting some white smoke out of my exhuast. but when everything is warmed up the car runs fine and i don't hear anything and there is no smoke at all. it this normal with turboed cars

your going to have to give us alot more info than that. what car? what turbo kit? what injectors? what timeing? what engine management? what engine? so and and so forth

should be very rich at cold start up until the o2 heats up and switches the ecu off startup.

Is your engine internals upgraded at all?

It sounds like you have cold motor piston slap, which is pretty normal, coupled with blown turbo seals, or POSSIBLY a bad headgasket that seals up once everything is warmed up and expands...

If it's blue smoke at idle when warming up, it's probably turbo seals.

I run the DFI Gen 7, and when I experienced lean conditions at cold start the motor would begin to surge and die. When it has fully warmed up it would run fine. If it is your stock ecu that your running, you might wanna look toward other things rather than it being lean.
