I havent started a new "Project" Thread in awhile...
Heres my girlfriend, Jen's car:
We picked this up from a Honda-tech member around a year ago, and it has been nothing but a huge headache since day one. Well, upon removing the fenders, it looks like this has been piled up underneath the back of a pickup truck. After fighting w/trying to get things to fit, we said FUKIT, and got out the plasma cutter.
This is the end result of the body lines w/the new half-tube front end:
This is a show car, hence the body kit(ick in my opion) and the vinyl interior(ick again), but the woman loves it. As you can see, we have some work to do:
And finally, the goods:
85.5mm B20Vtec, Endyn pistons, Crower rods, 1000cc injectors, Hondata, t3/60-1 turbo, and this one-off manifold/Dp combo(have yet to see anything like this on a Honda), and a custom WAIC. The one in the pic is a temp to get specs, etc for a new core thats on its way.
Ive been workin on this manifold for around two weeks, off and on after work(9pm or later), and it wasnt the easiest thing in the world w/mosquitos/black flies biting at me after a long day of work. I think the outcome was worth it though, dont you?

300whp, pump gas. We cant afford anymore problems w/this car, so we are going extremely modest. That, paired w/the gigantor pistons leaves around 2mm of sleeve between each cylinder. 10-15 psi max boost here...

300 on pump gas is surely do-able with a VERY conservative tune. Good luck with it and have fun

We havent tried to start it yet, so luck will be needed. This motor went together WAY too easily, which is what worries me. Clearances perfect, spin the assembly over by hand pretty easily. We will see though! I have to make mounts for the radiator, then make a new upper hose, then we turn the key. Probably tomorrow night.

Yes they are 2" runners, 16 guage, prettier for show(turbo will be braced to tranny).
Your "Medusa" kinda looks like this old manifold that I made(Circa-August '03):

Re: (Tinker219)
"Medusa" That manifold is on my setup right now, and I can't stop tlaking about how great it is.
While we were breaking in the motor on the dyno I had 8 psi by 4500 rpm's and full boost at 5200. THis response was with a huge GT37 with a 1.12 A/R.
I will PM you HP numbers next week cody...I had a little problem with one piston, but it should all be back together this week.
Your new mani looks great good luck with the startup!

Re: (projectTeG)
Tinker, where you been?
Do you think that these new super long runners are producing any benefits over your more traditional design? It looks sick for a show car, I know those peeps in the woods by you have never seen anything like that before!

Looks like a funky inverted sidewinder! Are you gunning for AC on the car? Will we have the pleasure of seeing this one beside the RWD Del Sol at NOPI in ATL this year? God I'd KILL to have you tube my front end like that...it's all sorts of wacky on the body lines.

Re: (turbozxi)
Cody, did you get that bumper from us? I know we sent you the hood, but I forgot if we sent you that bumper as well. Hook a brother up with some pictures of the hood so I can use it on the website. I only took pictures of the hood by itself, and don't have pictures of it on a actual car. I don't have a lot of local del sol customers. Send me some to my e-mail or I will hit you up IM.
Looks good!

Re: (BodyKits NW)
Andy, yes the bumper is a Bodykits NW piece, along w/the hood. We have some of your Z3 fenders too, but opted not to mess w/the install on those back when the bodylines were all fucked up. I bet theyd "bolt" right up now.
Yes, the purpose for the crazy manifold is for show. However, the lengths of the runners are the same as any of my other manifolds, around 23 inches. This one is w/in an inch of equal length though(my others vary by as much as 5).
Im anticipating great performance results with this piece
There will be NO AC or PS. It adds up to a much cleaner engine bay. This is my first "show car" that Ive attempted to build. I have built many manifolds for show cars, but never a complete car.
Heres a picture of an H22 SST in a CRX:
