The only other manifold I would even consider purchasing is the Full Race.

U should get an greddy kit I say go with Full-race for the price difference i would opt for that kit and then spend the $ elsewhere. Geoffs products have been proven time and time again .

maybe its just me but I can't see the Hytech being worth the price difference. I just can't see it actually producing that much more power than the Full-Race kit. Plus you'd have alot more money to put towards other things like fuel management and stuff.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by FFgeoff &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">both kits are very good, however our kit (full-race) is a much easier to install kit.

I think the hytech would really shine on a more race/strip oriented car due to the liquid to air IC. If you use a heat transfer medium (ice water) between the liquid to the ambient air, the ice will quickly melt, and there will be losses in the system, making the air warmer than ambient, and warmer than an ambient air to air equivalent intercooler. That probably made no sense, but you get the idea: air to water dosnt work as well unless there is ice water in the reservoir</TD></TR></TABLE>

Geoff...I do need to correct you on this assumption, the Air to Liquid Laminova intercooler is used as an OEM product on the Kompressor series of Mercedes Benz, and has been tested at ~88% effeciency rate without the ice water, as well as a small 1 psi loss through the intercooler. For larger horsepower needs it is recommended that you increase the rows from 4-6, or run 2 - 4 row Air to Liquid intercoolers.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Also with their inbtercooler design, you are stuck with using one intake manifold. You cant swap to a JG or to a skunk2 then try a bored out GSR, etc.</TD></TR></TABLE>

You are correct, however any kit that uses hard lines into the intake manifold(every turbo kit I've seen) would require a modification to run the different intake manifold.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">For info on what needs to be done to the radiator, the modifications that need to be made to the radiator hoses to clear the manifold and such ask sefi8lo civic. Also i believe you need to fabricate your own water tank for the IC when using the hytech kit. Hopefully John can come online and answer these questions.</TD></TR></TABLE>

The manifold should not require a change to the stock water lines, other than an insulation to protect the rubber from bubbling, or melting. The fans will not fit, however if you place them on the front of the radiator and change their polarity they will work perfectly fine.

Radiator/water cooler - you have two options, 1. you can buy an inexpensive oil/tranny cooler and run rubber lines to the front of the car(cheap through JEGS or Summit Racing), or 2. when you upgrade your radiator you can purchase a radiator that has an integrated 2nd system for the intercooler.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The only hard part on the full-race kit is notching the bumper out.

Of course if you are fully comfortable doing a fabrication intensive install, then it comes strictly down to performance, and i doubt there will be much difference.

ps tomakit: sweet avater

</TD></TR></TABLE>

I must say that there was quite a bit of R&D work placed into the HyTech manifold, and that it is an excellent piece. When boosting your car you have quite a few different options, some prefer this, some prefer that...it all comes down to what works best for your givin budget and application. I know that HyTech has quite a few of these kits, it's just that most of them aren't members of this board, or prefer to not post what's installed on their vehicle.

Just here to clarify some of the information.

To answer to this...it's a very busy fabrication shop, he hasn't had much time over the last year. There has been a tremendous amount of time and $$ invested into the RSX product line recently, as well as lots of new manifolds for drag race and road race big name teams. Simply put he hasn't had time to log onto the internet and read topics all day, they're building parts as fast as they can.

I'm still here...just really busy at work, taking a few days off to drive down to see my cousins, it just happens that they live ~1 hour to the north of HyTech, so I'll be stopping by the shop to see how John is doing, and how the new shop is, as well as taking a peak at all of his new projects

the hytech stuff is art. definately, absolutely positively art.

thanks for clarifying that stuff austin.

In regards to the other intake manifolds you can often swap out intake manifolds without redoing piping by rotateing it about the axis of the entank...

well I know for a fact stock fans will not fit in front of a dc2. i couldn't fit slim fans in there. It can be done if you remove the a/c condenser but that meas no a/c.
