Hytech Turbo manifold question?
Is it still feasible to use a standard front mount intercooler with this turbo manifold. I really like how it moves the turbo out of the way of the fans but I am worried that my FMIC will have to go for a water unit.
see if lovefab can make one setup for what you want... pm tinker.
if you were to use a hytech manifold you might as well use that badass cooler it was designed with.

if you pay close attention to the hytech manifold (and i may be wrong) the four primaries simply slide into to one another...they aren't even welded! I know MG Fabrications used the nu-image manifold and routed a 2.75 inch pipe off the manifold to the turbo which was mounted to the trans. The pipe wasn't even welded it just slid together in the middle.
Jordo should be able to correct me if i am wrong because i understand that he has the hytech-
Oh and polished stainless just looks better than the rusty wrought iron look. IMO

I used to be a little hot on the welds, but they have proven to hold thus far.
This is a recent manifold for a customer:
Not quite as hot, nice shiny golden welds. IF they fail, I will repair free of charge.

Yea, they aren't welded but look in Corky Bells book Maximum Boost.
There you will see this is actually a good thing to do if done right.
Many racecars turbo manifolds are built with those joints. The provide flexibility..and shouldn't leak.

The "burn" marks around the welds are becuase I dont meticulously polish each piece before I weld. I wipe them off with a rag, and go at it. Oils, and packing residue is what burns, causing the "burnt ring" around all the welds. Look at the actual WELD itself, nice and golden/multi-colored...
thank you jeff, a man that is generally reserved as one that "knows what he is talking about."
I need to work on my welding though, it aint perfect, but with every bead, the next one gets prettier...
