HUGE engine problem. Vid included please HELP
Alright guys so we got a 97 type sh prelude running hondata 2b system Autothority installed and tuned it and it worked fine. then the turbo manifold cracked so we got it replaced along with a new dp and turbo, and autothority did all the work. this time when we get the car back its got a HUGE idle problem and the boost gauge was turned up. I had it set at 25, which is 14.5psi. When i got it back it was set at 38. im not sure what psi that is but its high. The hondata is supposed to be programmed to cut off fuel at 15psi. So now it has a HUGE idle problem. and know theres a weird noise comming from the engine kinda like its griding/squeeking.
the ecu is off a 95 gsr, je 8.5:1 pistons and crower rods. please give us a hand here guys
Instructions: right click on the link and click "Save as...". You will need the divx codec to view the video. (available at http://www.divx.com/)
http://bling.darkmark.com/zak/turbo/lude2.avi btw the vid is 23mb

your timing sounds shot...are you spark plug cables in the right order?...just a shot in the dark here
second thing I could think of is that your ECU is shot I7d try swapping that with a completely stock one to see if it idles properly

Check ALL vacuum lines.....that is the symptom of a loose or not connected vac line. I changed the alternator on my moms BMW and i fired it up and forgot to connect a vac line. Idled up and down and up and down that.
Also, i've seen a Civic do that too. High temperature sensor was bad.

yup, they said that it came blown when in reality all we had them do replace the turbo manifold
The first time i went there, the guy that did the work was really good, his name was manny. the next time i went there they had a new guy named jason and that is when all the stuff went wrong. They said it was already like that and they didn't do anything to it. they won't do anything for me. if you look at the original post again i ammended it. it wasn't at 30psi. im not sure where hoses are supposed to go, but everything appears to be connected. i didn't even get half way down the road before the junky elbow from the ic pipe to the turbo they had on there blew off, so i couldn't see what it was boosting.

legally it would. but i would imagine a threat from a lawyer would get your car back in the shop if it actually came to that.
Oh, and you're misfiring on one cylinder, that's for SURE.
check your cam timing, and check your compression.
That isn't a vacuum leak, that's for sure. Something isn't kosher, i hope that kid didn't take your car for a "test drive" or something and fucked something up.
Good luck, keep everyone informed
Brad
oh btw, nice bare feet. lol

manny is a cool **** and he knows his ****. i don't know who jason is but tell them exactly what you have told us. that's total bs. you know you didn't crank the boost, someone must have done it and screwed it up. i'd raise hell.
on a side note: i had Autothority install my hood pins on my cf hood and 8 months later the hood flew up on me while i was going 60 mph. i asked if they could replace it and they said no. i think some sort of lawyer would scare them into fixing your problem, don't get screwed like i did.

I'm a little confused as to why you didn't make them fix it when you picked up the car....in my opinion you would have noticed something like that before leaving their place.
Something just doesn't sound right here.

seriously...check the ECU...swap the stock one back in...also, check the alternator voltage the sp wires...that problem looks too familar, but I can't pinpoint it
That sounds like a idle screw on the throttle body adjusted too much. The computer (Hondata +ECU) sees the throttle body as open and trying to compensate it by injecting gas. As for why the idle screw adjusted too much, well whoever messing with your car, couldn't get the car to idle so they just bump it up via the adjusting screw.
i can't swap the old ECU back in, it won't work with the hondata, plus it worked fine before the second time i went in there.
I did tell them there was something wrong before I left. They said that it was already like that before and i was like that bull, it never did that before. they came up with this elaborate story how it was like that before and just starting to show now. i said that wasn't possible because it worked find before but they still refused to do anything. they told me it was going to cost like alot to fix and i told them they should pay for it because it wasn't like that but it didn't get me anywhere, they said it wasn't covered under their so called "warranty."
I don't know where that idle screw is, i looked for it, but i can't seem to find it. there is too much stuff around there.

don't put the Hondata on...just attached the stock ECU on as normal just to see if it idles properly...don't drive it though....if it idles then you can deduce that it may be something wrong with either Hondata or the GSR ecu
