Default HP limits of stock h22.

I can't get a good estimate of the limits of a stock JDM H22a.

People say boosting under 8psi is safe, but it's all relative.

Whereas one setup could yeild X amount of HP, another setup would yeild Y amount with the same boost levels, so that doesn't really tell me anything I want to know.

Does anybody know the safe HP limit of a completely stock H22?

I've heard 250 whp. Does this seem right?

Sorry for the dumb post.

TIA.

I've heard that h22 ringlands are really weak...but not exactly how much power.

Yeah, that's all I ever hear as well.

I guess I'll just test it out and hope it lasts

So which would be more reliable...

A small setup that pushes 8 psi, but only makes let's say 220 WHP

or a larger setup, with less boost, but more WHP?

Well I'm looking to put out 250 whp this year on the stock block, but I'm running nitrous instead of boost. I've never heard of ringlands blow because of nitrous on an h22.

The limits of a stock block H22 are around 300whp. The ring lands on the pistons were designed crappy from the factory, so under boost they tend to go. With proper tuning, and the right turbo parts 300whp is obtainable.

Look up firedrake, he is running aronud 12psi on a fully stock motor with some big injectors and a good tune. Buliding H's is not cheap, I know its made me one broke bastard.

Well...I realize anything is attainable.

But what I'm trying to figure out, is what, if at all, is a safe boost level, or WHP level for prolonged periods of time with stock rings?

I've seen stock blocks do 300+ whp, but that's obviously not going to last all that long.

I don't want to be worrying about 'oh when is my engine gonna take a crap...'

Will under 7psi with good tuning keep it reliable over long (er) periods of time?
