hows this sound?
ok, my car is turboed, and running good, now im on the market for a full 3". I think im going to take the route of getting one made from an exhaust shop...i was wondering if a full 3" without a muffler would sound good? or just sound raspy? anyone got any info/tips?
-god made turbo lag, so the v8's could catch up

i remember reading some where that you don't need a 3 inch unless you putting down 500 hp +or-. if it's turbo lag that your worried about than... what ever.
it shouldn't be to loud but the cops might freak if they ever look at it.

will i notice any difference in 2.5" compared to 3"...the guy at the exhaust shop said 2.5" will be just as good...is this true? i mean my dp is 2.5, so all threw the dp the air will flow the same...if i go with 2.5" i can keep my muffler
It is up to you, 3" will make more power, but on a low hp application the differance will be minimal. If you are having it done at a shop that doesn't normally work on turbo honda, make sure the pipes are all mandrel bent, and not crush bent. That will make a difference in the flow of the gas.
I have also heard that you will benifit with the 3" piping because as the gas travels down it expands, so a smaller dp is alright but larger piping back further will help.

For that price find out what kind of materials they are using, you can also try kteller.com for the muffler.
Ill get to the sound clip later when i get home.

kteller.com and jegs.com. I made a 2.5 to 3.0 side exit exhaust with mandrel bends, magnflow bullet muffler for under $100. Its not obnoxious loud, but its kinda drones on the hwy, and when just lugging around town.
Im doing almost the same thing as you, I think im gonna buy a muffler and flex pipe off ebay and have a muffler shop weld up a 3" turbo back system, hope it dont cost a shitload tho, havent got a quote yet.
Make sure the flex pipe is double layered, if. My mechanic was telling me that on the good flex's there is an outer layer of braid, the inner flex then another braid. The inner braid keeps the gas flowing smoothly and keeps it from whistling. Good luck!
Def let us know how it turns out. I was looking at making a 3" by just buying the beds and having the exhaust shop weld the straight sections. i already have a magnaflow muffler 3". Has anyone done this. The mandrel bends are like $13-20 and you only need two 90% and then the hard one is the angle above the control arm.
