since most of you guys on here run cars without a/c, i might as well ask the experts. any hints and tips when taking out the a/c? how do i release all the gases without doing harm to myself? any instructions? anything will help, thank you..

a "friend" took out his A/C by just cracking a line, and walking away.
This is bad for the planet, etc but it's the easiest way to remove the refrigerant. Of course, one could just go to an A/C shop and have them remove the refrigerant, if you had easy access and a bit more of a budget.

Once that's done, my "friend" removed the condenser, lines, and pump. The other HVAC gear under the dash was left alone though, as it's a maze of piping under there.

It's actually quite easy to do. Just keep your old parts so you can reinstall them when it comes time to sell the car.

 

One of the times I did it the line cracked too big and started shooting foamy oil crap all over the car. It was a huge mess that took about an hour to clean up, I'd suggest just taking it to any car place and they'll drain it for you.

If you're lucky your car maybe like mine was and totally empty. There is a shrader valve that you can check on one of the lines.

 

There was something wrong then, cuz the refridgerant is a gas. A "Friend" of mine just took a hack saw and made a slight cut in the line and walked away

 

yeah i'll probably just take it to a shop .... could i get everything out if i just use my a/c everytime a drive?
