Default how is a t-66 going to work on my set up

9.8:1 83mm gsr sleeved block
type r head
sfp race mani
i think that is all of the info you would need, i am up for using nitrous if need be but i was wondering if it would be a good buy at 850.00 and i am against using the sc-61, although an awesome turbo ive already had one and i am looking for more power.

It is a good idea. They're pretty comparable in power (the T66 might support a few horsies more) but the T66 will lag WAY more, even if you do like a .58 A/R P-trim T66.

More power than a sc61, well how much power do you want and how much did you make with the sc61?

T66 is pertty huge, and I doubt you be able to fit it on your street car unless you do some moddifing your engine bay. Also like everyone say, with that size of a turbo you need atleast a 2.2Liter and high redline. Cause don't expect this bad boy turbo to spool any lower then 6-7k lolz

im just telling him what people told me. I know it will fit, he probably have to do something with the a/c and stuff like that. Go ahead and run it on a 1.6 but you will need a high *** redline for it.

J/W, how much MORE do you need that requires upgrading from the SC61? I'm assuming this is a track only car.

But if you're down with using nitrous, then the T66 would give you one helluva top end. What trim, A/R size were you looking at?

This would be for a car to compete in the Pro-Am street classes. So he's shooting for low 10's high 9's with this. I really don't see anyone doing better than a mid 10 with an SC61, unless maybe it was an T04S housing, I don't know. The E housing won't cut it though.

isnt brian ballard running very low 10's on a SC61 with an "E" housing?

I would say if its a turbonetics t66 since precision doesnt offer one. You will not make more power than an sc61 with it anyway. I would go with an sc63 with to4s front housing before i would use the t66. If you want a straight t series go t67 p trim then.

I agree with mike, the GT wheels are taking over.... Everywhere, if it were me I'd go with a sc63, you can make the power you need to run in the 10's and the sc63 is a lot less lag than a t66 is going to be, especially in your case. I'm running a t66 on my setup simply because I figure with a large motor (h23) it'll kill spool time considerably, although I'm expecting significant lag anyway...... Also, the sc63 reaches its effiecency range alot lower than the t66 does, the t66 really only likes to perform at higher boost, whereas the sc63 performs well in all ranges, which is much more streetable, since this is going to be a street/race car correct?

As for the guy who said something about it not fitting, anything can fit with a lil work..... and to the other guy who said it'll work well on a b16?? a t66 b16 would be a joke, hell wasn't there a thread a while back about a sc61 spooling at like 7k on a b16??? maybe u should a caught that before you go calling people out.........

From everything I've researched the 63mm wheel is NOT one of the new GT wheels. Only the 61 and the 67 are GT wheels.... Correct me if I'm wrong on this...

I know the SC63 is not a GT-series turbo (unless you get a GTQ or GTS exhaust wheel I guess) but i'm not sure on the PT67.

Yes Brian runs 10.19 on an sc61.. Some people on this board have these theories that make as much sense as a one legged man in an asskicking contest...

i take what mike says very seriously because he has done it and you too sixtydashone, but to the guys who say it will be too laggy you dont know what youre talking about because i had a 81mm gsr with a t72 and the bitch spooled up at only 5000rpm off the bottle. im going to use nitrous on this set up and i am not concerned with lag just top end and total power. thanks for all the replies. keep em coming
