How to reset TPS?
Basically yesterday before I disassembled my throttlebody my TPS would read 100%, now no matter how far the butterfly opens in the throttlebody, the max the TPS reads on an OBD2 scan tool is 67.5%.....anybody know how to reset the TPS?
it has screws on it. loosen them, then check the voltage as specified in an oem service manual.
if you dont have the screw on it. you might have mixed wires up or maybe even swaped the tps for the map plug.

Never looked for a screw, so what do I have to turn the screw to match a specified voltage or something??? I guess I have to finally stop being a cheap *** and get a manual and a multimeter. I am pretty sure the plugs are right as the one going to the TPS, I am pretty sure it wont reach the map sensor.
Or is that why the holes where the screws go through to mount it to the TB are so big?, do I have to rotate it like I am changing the timing on the engine? If that is the case I can just loosen them and look at the scan tool while at the same time rotate the TPS until it reads 100% correct?

the screws just hold the tps in place. if you loosen them you can rotate the tps and vary the voltage going to the ecu. it should be .5 closed and 4.5 w.o.t.
the tps and map plugs definitly reach eachother. so check that out.

thanks dude....that was a big help, I must have a rigged harness because when I unpluged the map & tps, the first thing I noticed was the matching plugs, but one of the plugs definately was stretched pretty tight (tps), maybe it is caught on something...i dunno, this car is ghetto
As you are testing it test it while you are opening and closing the throttle plate,it should gradually go up as you open and then do down as you close it.
bought an digital voltmeter today, got it calibrated to .45 closed..... did not check it at W.O.T.
I origionally took the TPS off because I disassembled my TB to clean it because it was sticking. I fixed the sticking part and it closes nice now but the max I can get my OBD2 scan tool to read the TPS% is 81%. I actually had to slightly bend the bracket that touched the TPS sensor inside the TB to get the voltmeter to move while turning the TPS.... i think this has something to do with the TPS not going to 100%. I am just about to buy a new TB if I cant get this thing to work by tomorrow night, tired of screwing with it.
Anybody know if the Edelbrock 70mm uses stock sensors?

they come with a tps already on them.
