Default Any problem with out having the TPS or MAP connected???

I recently purchased a 92 hatch with d15b vtec engine and the idle bounces between 1k and 2.5k and has a rough time starting.

I tried messing around with the TPS but couldn't get it working right, so i just unplugged the TPS and MAP sensors and it idles at like 1700rpm and starts right up. (better than rough start and surging idle)

So my question is: Is it okay to have both the TPS and MAP sensor disconected? Or are there any problems that could occur from doing so?

Any input in appreciated.
Thanks!

yeah your fuel is going to be all out of whack. try making sure they weren't plug in backwards. IE: map plug going to tps and tps plug going to map.
