How to Remove GSR tranny???

It's pretty simple and straightforward.
Just buy a Haynes/Helms manual. It will do you good.
-Remove radiator
-Unplug harness that connects to firewall
-Remove axles
-Unbolt shift linkages
-Support engine with hoist
-Remove/Unbolt motor mounts
-Remove engine

i can tell you.
1 pull axles
2. pull all the bottom bolt off the tranny including the shift linkage.
3. move to the top of the car pull all the top bolt tranny to engine bolts. leave teh top bolt in rear motor mount for the engine remove started and reverse lights connector
4. remove lower passage side toqur mount.
5.use a jack to jack the tranny up a bit and hold it in place.
6. remove tranny mount.
7.low the jack abit have a freind hold the tranny
8. you pry bar to remove tranny off dowl pins.
9. have friend hold the tranny contuie to hold it. slow remove jack.
10 get under the car with the freind and remove the tranny by wingling it till it come free and rest it on the ground.
shouldnt take you more than an hour to do this

With the proper punch and a few whacks with the hammer it slides right out... don't know how people have issues with something so simple.

me neither...ive used a hammer/punch on several cars and never had any problem

i never understood why people have such issues. i just use a philips head screw drive thats just small enough to fit in the hole

if you get one that has had any salt or water get in there and its old.. like from 89-93, you need an air hammer to get em out. no light tapping with a punch will take those basterds out if they havent been out in 10 years.
