LOL that's a pretty pathetic question. I knew they were a LITTLE harder than metrics, but come on. They are fractions of ONE INCH.

IE: 1/2 = 1/2 INCH! (also, 2/4)
......3/4 = 3/4 INCH! (one size smaller than 7/8!)

Get it?!

I know its kinda a silly question to us guys, but anyone ever stop to think that maybe he doesnt have anyone to teach him this stuff? I mean yeah, he prolly learned fractions in school, but maybe no one ever got a chance to teach the kid about tools. I know my old man was a *******, and I had to learn everything myself. I dont think anyone should be giving him **** about it... anywho

Yes, they are fractions of an inch, all in 1/16ths. So:

1/16 = 1/16
2/16 = 1/8
3/16 = 3/16
4/16 = 1/4
5/16 = 5/16
6/16 = 3/8
7/16 = 7/16
8/16 = 1/2
9/16 = 9/16
10/16 = 5/8
11/16 = 11/16
12/16 = 3/4
13/16 = 13/16
14/16 = 7/8
15/16 = 15/16
16/16 = 1

Dunno, I have a hard time telling standard sizes.

For example I can look at a bolt on my car and tell if its a 10mm, 17mm etc... When it comes to standard bolts on say a domestic car im clueless, I cant eyeball that ****. I guess it comes with experience though. Why cant everything be metric!!??

Thats why most of the world uses metric except for american companies. obviously some use metric.

Try working on a newer American made car. They use standard and metric, they also have torx head, flat and phillips screws all over the place. I used to work on them , They drive me insane! You end up with every tool you own on the floor to take off a header.
