Default How to protect an intercooler?

Maybe this is a dumb question but i was looking at my radiator and the fins on it are very messed up from bugs, rocks, etc (probably from free way driving). i got my intercooler in the mail the other week and i realized the fins are easily bent. is there any sort of tight woven screen that could be placed in front the intercooler that would be unnoticable and protect the fins? just wondering and thanks for the input

You could try some chicken wire mesh or window screen material, but I'm not sure if that would restrict airflow. I usually just sit there for about an hour every time I wash my car(which is not very often) and straighten the fins out with a small screwdriver/pliers. Harbor Freight has has this radiator fin straightener tool, but none of the fin spacings on it lined up with my IC.
