How to prevent Boost Creep??
hi im just getting ready to turbocharge by b16a2, im planning on runnin 7psi(thru wastegate) on standard internals. Im a bit worried that car may overboost to whatever and blow my standard internals..
what will cause boost creep and is there a device that can prevent it??
thx

Solutions to Boost Creep
1. Run an external Tial or Turbosmart wastegate
2. Run an Electronic boost controller that has a boost cut or limiter (eg. Greddy Profec B Spec II or Blits SBC spec S or R)
3. Run a Relief Valve--(Greddy makes a relief valve that bleeds excess boost) http://www.greddy.com/prod_relief_valve.htm
4. Run Uberdata or Hondata for engine management, because they both have boost limiter/cut options.

Wastegate and Manifold are where you will usually find boost creep problems. Don't go cheap on either one of these parts.
Im not sure which kit it is, but one kit maybe the greddy has a shitty *** manifold that yields to some lovely boost creeping.
Like suggested above, grab a tial wastegate aswell.

it's all about the design, inexpensive or not. Essentially you want to make it just as easy for the gasses to bypass the turbine as it would be to enter it. There are hundreds of thousands of cars that run internal wastegates and have no creep issues, mine included
It has very little to do with the price, it's all design.
not from a design standpoint but from a "what if something goes wrong" standpoint, I do really like the boost cut Uberdata has
