what turbo is it? im assuming its an internally gated turbo. get you some bits that are gonna hold up to cast iron, get an air grinder and have at it, key word is taper not "hog out" going to far with cast iron will cause stress cracking and spider cracks.

why are you porting it? bad boost control?

That's because this isn't done.. In your case, most externally gated turbochargers don't benefit "porting" on the exhaust side the way your think. O2 housings and flapper openings for internal wastegates can be "ported", but not the exhaust housing.

Do not do this.

DSM guys 'port' their turbine housings, mainly for better turbine flow - not WG flow. They do all sorts of crap because their cars include a small turbo, while Honda owners generally start with a good turbo. In most cases, any grinding a n00b like you will do will harm the turbo. Its a far cry from adding an MSB blaster coil because "you heard it will be better", as housings aren't very cheap to replace.

Realisticly you shouldn't think about such mods until it noticably impacts performance.

Even porting the O2 housings (not the turbine housings) are limited. After my 1ga DSMs, I've done this a few times, and it was better to just get the better turbo.
