How to pick a wastegate?
I currently have a Turbonetics Deltagate II wastegate. I want to change the wastegate, since I've heard bad things about it leaking or breaking...I was thinking about going to a Tial wastegate, since I've never heard anything bad about that brand. I got the wastegate in a kit I bought used, so I was kind of at a loss for the sizes of certain things. How do I figure out which Tial wastegate to get, considering I run ~10psi now on a T4E turbo, and plan to run a maximum of 15 later on down the road? Which spring set should I get, too...I have a manual boost gauge, so does it even matter? Thanks,
Tyler

the tial 38 replaced the tial 35...
the Innovative minigate is 35mm gate that will support some 450hp...
i think it comes with a .9bar spring...
but for the sake of simplicity.... the tial 38mm is a great choice

take a look at the Turbosmart Ultragate instead of the Tial 38mm. First off it flows 20% more than a tial 38mm. The ultragate is made entirely of investment cast 253ma stainless. The use of 253ma will prevent and deposits or "gunking up." You can run all the race gas you want and not worry. I have seen a Tial fail the first time race gas is used. The process of investment casting is not only incredible precise, but it prevents the wastegate from rusting and/or corroding on the outside. The ultragate's valve is a one piece design and is made entirely from 253ma.
The Tial 38mm is made from lesser quality stainless. It really depends on what day the w/g was made for the actual material. Their wastegates are sand casted which is less precise and will cause the wastegate to rust. Since they use lesser quality stainless, you can't run race gas on them. And the Tial valves are a two piece design.
I know lots of people like the Tial wastegates, but just take a moment to look at the facts
