i'm just finishing my fully build lsvtec turbo setup. its sleeved with forged pistons and rods and its running a t3 60-1
i got all my piping done at the muffler shop and i got full 3 inch mandral piping no cat 3" magna flow muffler.
but the guy said he could not do a 3" doen pipe because the turbo outlet is 2.5 and the dp flange is only 2.5 so not my down pipe is 2.5 and is flared to 3 inches right under the oil pan
how much will this hurt in a 400-500whp set up
should i get this and redo my down pipe to full 3"

Bump because I am in the same place??? I would think the flange would help because the exhaust gas would exit the turbo faster, even though its a 2.5 to 2.5 right now.

but my is the other way around . 3in dp with a 2.5in exhaust

he said i would gain 10-30hp if i switch over to 3

well my down pipe is only 2.5" from the turbo to right under the oil pan. just wondering how much advantage will help is i go full 3" downpipe
also how do most of you guys use 3" downpipe when most turbo outlets and downpipe flanges are 2.5
