that would be good to know becuase im going to get a downpipe made with crush bends( no one does mandrel bend in nc) at 2.5". Hopefully im going to lose the cat and run 2.5 all the way to my magnaflow muffler

bigger the better when it comes to turbo, and crush bends kill power

Yeah, true. Open downpipe beats anything else.

OTOH, I'm putting about 300 WHP out of the stock greddy downpipe and a Tanabe Racing Medallion, it's smaller than 2.5". Putting in the silencer costs me about 50 WHP.

I guess it depends on where your priorities are, it's a few hundred bucks and you may only gain 10-20 HP on the top end.

getting the 2.5" would be a huge upgrade. and instead of getting a shop to crushbend you a downpipe, just order 2 90* bends from jcwhitney and that will help out a ton as well. it would be cheaper to get a 3" kteller exhaust than a 2.5" catback system. it would take more work to put it on, but you were getting an exhaust shop to do it anyway, so just get them to do that. you notice a GIGANTIC difference.
